Warning From Ophthalmologists
Eye protection of the game family
Looking at the screen for a long time, it is easy to cause eye fatigue or visual damage. Ophthalmologists often listen to patients' complaints about eye interference,
foreign body sensation, blurred vision, swollen eyeballs or even headache. The survey shows that the incidence of eye fatigue of game lovers accounts for about 70%
The American optometry Association calls this eye syndrome c.v.s
Of course, smartphones and tablets can cause the same eye problems.
For the sake of eye health, ophthalmologists have prescribed the following eye care prescriptions for the "game crowd":
1. Lighten the burden on the eyes
Avoid looking at the screen for a long time. Under normal circumstances, people blink about 20 times a minute
In the use of electronic products, due to the concentration of attention, blinking times per minute will be reduced to 6 times, only about 1 / 3 of the normal state
Suggestion: people should not operate the computer for a long time, especially don't play games for a long time. Instead, they should rest for 15 minutes every time
they play the game for 1-2 hours, close their eyes or look into the distance
This seems impossible for players to improve, please make sure that after one game the eyes have enough time to rest and relax before starting the next game!
2. Tear not only has the function of disinfection and sterilization, but also has the important function of lubricating eyeball and keeping corneal refractive system
Excessive use of the eye will reduce the secretion of tears. Too little tear is easy to evaporate. In this way, not only can the cornea not be moistened by tears,
but also be easily damaged or epithelial keratosis. The whole surface of the eyeball will also become dry, resulting in conjunctival congestion, burning sensation
or foreign body feeling, shame, grinding pain, unclear vision and fatigue.
Suggestion: if you find your eyes dry, please stop playing and have a rest
Keep indoor ventilation and proper humidity
Use artificial tears, if eye fatigue symptoms are more serious, should consult an ophthalmologist in time, choose the appropriate eye drops or eye patches,
so that the eyes get moist
3. Keep the correct posture and gaze distance, and don't get too close to the screen
Especially when playing games on the mobile phone, because the screen is small, some people close the screen to their own body due to myopia, so that the head tilts
forward and the neck muscles are forced to exert force. This posture can easily aggravate the fatigue of the eyes
Suggestion: keep a distance of more than 60 cm from the computer and adjust the height of the monitor so that the line of sight is about 30 degrees downward
Keep a distance of more than 30 cm from the mobile phone or iPad, and keep the head as straight as possible
This can let the eye muscles in a more relaxed state, see the game professional athletes posture.
4. Keep the screen clear
In some computers or mobile phones, the screen definition is reduced due to long-term use, which can cause difficulty in distinguishing and visual fatigue
Suggestion: timely check and adjust the brightness and clarity of the screen to improve the ambient light source. If the ambient light is too strong or too weak,
the picture on the screen will not be clear or form a strong contrast, thus increasing the burden on the eyes. Therefore, ensure that the indoor light should be
soft, do not play games in the sun, and the screen reflected light will make you can't see the screen clearly
5. HEVL (High energy visible light)
Blue Light is with wavelengths within the range of 400–500 nm, these waves pass through the lens and reach the retina. The eye is not very good at blocking blue light,
Blue light contributes to digital eye strain.Blue light protection may be even more important after cataract surgery.Light in the 400–430 nm part of the spectrum is
known to be particularly harmful.and are considerably damaging to the eyes and even our circadian rhythms which directly affect our wake-sleep cycles.
The largest source of blue light is sunlight. Additionally, there are many other sources:
• Computer monitors
• Smart phones
• LED light
• Televisions
• Tablet screens
Most of us spend the majority of our waking hours staring at a digital screen.
When you stare at a screen for hours at a time, whether it is a computer, TV, phone or tablet, you are exposed to blue light from the device. The discomfort some people
have after looking at screens is most likely digital eyestrain. Most of us blink less when looking at screens, causing eye strain and dry eye.
Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) blinds millions around the globe. Which is the Ranks 3rd among visual impairments
Medical science has demonstrated a link between exposure to visible light primarily in the blue light (region within 400-450nm) as a causative factor in human retinal
photoreceptor cell death. This cell death (apoptosis) represents one of the earliest phases of AMD.
Blue light affects the body’s circadian rhythm, our natural wake and sleep cycle. During the day, blue light wakes us up and stimulates us. Too much exposure to blue
light late at night (through smart phones, tablets, and computers) can disturb the wake and sleep cycle, make it harder to get to sleep leading to problems sleeping and
daytime tiredness.
But not all blue light is bad.
Blue light between 450-500nm is making the body produce melatonin which regulates circadian rhythm(help the body's natural wake and sleep cycle),we can call it good blue
light and needed for good health. It boosts alertness, helps memory and cognitive function and elevates mood.
Until now, the only known method to block these damaging wavelengths of light was with deep amber or yellow spectacle lenses, however BLOCK THE BAD BLUE LIGHT but also
Block GOOD BLUE LIGHT TO ENTER,It is wearable During hospital or eye clinic treatment, but not good Wear all day long.there is a noticeable color to the lens hindering
cosmesis, reducing daylight vision, night vision and color perception.
Suggestion: when using mobile phones and computers to play games, wear protective glasses that can filter 400-450 nm harmful blue light, while maintaining 450-500 nm
beneficial blue light. Generally, it is not necessary to wear dark amber or yellow glasses used in hospital treatment for daily use.
